Security requirements flow down through the supply chain, so a subcontractor handling controlled technical information carries obligations without holding a direct government contract. The trigger is the data you handle rather than your position in the chain. Ask your prime in writing what flows down to you before you build anything, because scoping determines the cost of everything that follows.
How quickly can someone be onsite in Lakewood?
It is a short run down I-5 from Tacoma, so same day is normal for anything needing hands on hardware, and often within a couple of hours. The realistic caveat is the I-5 corridor through the JBLM stretch, which can add significant time during peak periods. For anything genuinely time critical we plan around that rather than pretending it does not happen.
